Lisa saw him in the mirror and stopped what she was doing. “What?”

“I would ask just what do you think you are doing? But I think I know.”

“Only what I said back in the kitchen. A spa day will do her good.”

“Just don’t make her feel any worse than what she already feels.”

Lisa rubbed his arms and gave him a quick peck on the lips. “I promise. See you later.”

“Later.”

“Do you need me to write you a list for the supermarket?”

“No. I already wrote a list.”

“All by yourself!” Lisa gave him a pat on the head, a quick hug and another quick kiss. “Be careful. I’ll see you this afternoon.”

“Right. You, too.”

Lisa winked. “I promise.”
